Our commitment
Jack Lamond is committed to ensuring this website is accessible to the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.
We actively work to make our websites usable by people who rely on keyboard navigation, screen readers, high-contrast modes, or other assistive technologies.
Under the Equality Act 2010, we have a duty to make reasonable adjustments so that disabled people are not disadvantaged when using our website.
Conformance status
This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.
Key accessibility features this site includes:
- Skip-to-content link at the top of every page for keyboard users.
- All interactive elements are keyboard-navigable with a visible focus indicator.
- Focused elements are not obscured by the sticky navigation bar (WCAG 2.4.11).
- Colour contrast ratios meet WCAG AA minimums: ≥4.5:1 for normal text, ≥3:1 for large text and UI components.
- All form inputs have associated labels (visible or screen-reader accessible).
- Images include descriptive
alttext, or emptyalt=""where decorative. - Semantic HTML headings (
h1-h3) are used in a logical order. - Page language is declared (
lang="en-GB"). - Interactive elements meet minimum touch target sizes (WCAG 2.5.8).
- Animations and transitions are suppressed when the user has requested reduced motion.
- Page structure uses semantic landmark elements (
<header>,<nav>,<main>,<footer>).
Known limitations
We are aware of the following areas that may not fully meet WCAG 2.2 AA:
- Third-party embeds - booking widgets, maps, or video embeds from external providers may not fully conform. We encourage providers to meet accessibility standards but cannot guarantee them.
- PDF documents - any linked PDF files may not be fully accessible. Please contact us if you need the content in an alternative format.
- Older blog content - historical blog posts may predate our current accessibility standards. We aim to update these over time.
Technical information
Jack Lamond relies on the following technologies for WCAG 2.2 conformance:
- HTML5
- CSS (including ARIA roles and landmark regions)
- JavaScript (for interactive components such as navigation menus, carousels, and accordions)
